Temple Gymnastics Hosts “My Cause” Meet on Thursday
2.28.23 | Women's Gymnastics
PHILADELPHIA - The Temple gymnastics team will host its first-ever "My Cause" meet this Thursday, March 2 in McGonigle Hall when the Owls host West Chester, Maryland, and Towson at 4 p.m. ET.
The "My Cause" meet highlights the way in which all Temple student-athletes are encouraged to celebrate their beliefs and support causes that are important to them.
"In discussing the goals within the gymnastics program, the athletics department, and the university, there was a very clear common theme among those three, and that is a strong desire to support individual voices in a way that makes everyone feel heard and seen," said Head Coach Josh Nilson. "We believe this is the best way to show unity, even though we are all unique, and to amplify individual voices in a way that is in harmony with the university."
Nilson's team will unveil a new "My Cause" leotard in conjunction with the meet theme.
The design team put an emphasis on colors that represent the selected causes. The back of the leotard features all of the colors intertwined, as a representation of the unity within and across the team.
