No. 11 Fencing Goes 5-2 to Close Out Northwestern Duals

EVANSVILLE, Ill. - The No. 11 Temple fencing team closed the Northwestern Duals on a high note, going 5-2 in the final day of the meet.
Meet Summary
> Temple opened the day strong, topping Wayne State 25-2 and Lawrence 26-1.
> The team stumbled in round three falling to No. 7 Cornell 15-12.
> The Owls rebounded with back to back wins, defeating Incarnate Word 19-8 and No. 5 (DIII) Denison 22-5.
> No. 6 Ohio State earned a 17-10 win over Temple in the sixth round, before the Cherry and White closed the meet with a 26-1 victory against Detroit Mercy.
Individual Highlights
> The epee squad went undefeated on the day.
> Epeeists Sara Proctor and Anne-Mai Melles led the team, going a perfect 11-0 and 9-0, respectively.
> Cindy Long (epee) posted an 8-3 record, while Sarah Park (epee) went 6-4.
> Emma Pincus led the sabre squad with a 9-1 mark. Saberist Diana Tiburcio went 8-2.
> Constança Dimas and Anastasia Yankovskiy each posted a 7-1 mark to lead the foilists.
