Track & Field Heads to Two Meets Friday

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's track and field team will split this weekend as the squad heads to two different northeastern meets. Most of the sprint group, along with the distance runners will head to the Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University while field team along with a few short distance runners will head to Fastrack National Invitational in New York City. Additionally, five men's cross-country runners will begin off season competition at each event.
Last Time Out
> Temple had another strong meet at the Rutgers Invitational in the Bronx.
> Freshman Fiona Carter set a personal best in the high jump during her collegiate debut (5-03 ft, 1.60m)
> Allie Riches set the program record for the pole vault for the second time in three weeks (3.83m)
Previewing the Owls – Valentine Invitational
> Three Owls will be running in the 60m dash in Chelby Elam, and Madison Trout. The same two will be running in the 200m.
> Marissa White, Kwanda Knight, and Chidumga Nkulume will be representing Temple in the 400m run.
> On the distance side Elvira Bredin and Michelle Frowijn will run in the 800m, Laura Nicholson and Cat Shontz will be running in the mile and 5000m, respectively.
> Nkulume, White, Knight, and Greig will be running in the 4x400m
> For the men, Mattia Zen, Liem Chot and Cole Frank will compete in the 5k. Christian Fitch will run in the 3k.
Previewing the Owls – Fastrack National Invitational
> In the sprint group, Lauren Greig will be running in both the 60 and 200 meter dash alongside Jewel Ofotan in both events. Isatu Shirek will be running in the 200m and Christal Pommells will be running in the 400m.
> Sophia Gulotti and Shirek will be running the 60m hurdles. For distance, Dominyka Petraskaite will run in the 800m and one mile events as the lone distance runner in her second meet of the season.
> Nicole Castor, Jaaliyah Evans, and Amira Green will be competing in the high jump. Sophia Gulotti, Allyson Metzger, and Tannekee Strachan will be jumping in the long jump. Strachan will also be competing in the triple jump. Finally, Riches will be competing in the Pole Vault.
> On the men's side, Zack Marmol and Jimmy Koel will be running in the 5k, Josh Christianson and Kenny Guy will be competing in the 3k, and transfer David Litvin will run the mile.
