Owls Win 4-3 Over FDU for Their Tenth In A Row

Philadelphia – The Temple men's tennis team (10-2) played a tight match and defeated the defending NEC Champion FDU Knights (4-6) by a final score of 4-3 on Thursday, March 9. The match took place at the Hecht Tennis Center on Penn's Campus. The victory marks the Owls' tenth-straight.
 
NOTES:
  • For the second match in a row, Temple was unable to win two of the three doubles matches to earn the point. FDU led 1-0 after all three Temple pairs lost.
  • The Owls then went on to win four straight singles matches to claim the victory. The Knights' Arjun Sriram and Thomas Linky both won their matches in the fourth and sixth positions to give FDU their three points.
  • Hussein El Tawil completed his match first from the fifth position to give Temple a point and tie the score at 1-1. This marked his seventh victory in singles this spring and twelfth overall on the season.
  • Marin Delmas faced off against the Knight's Justas Trainauskas in the first positon of singles. Coming into the match, Trainauskas was 7-1 and had only lost once but Delmas handed him his second of the season.

The Owls have back-to-back matches so they will quickly turn to prepare for the Marist Red Foxes on Friday morning, March 10 at 10:30 a.m. in Cherry Hill.
