The OWLS:
- Temple is coming off a tight win over Navy on Sunday, March 5 in which Gregoire Barety won the match point from the third position of singles play while both teams were tied 3-3. The point gave the Owls their eighth-straight win after dropping the first two matches of the season.
- After missing the last match, Barety returned to the lineup and now has a 4-2 singles record this spring. With doubles partner Marin Delmas, they are 6-3 - all from the first position.
- Hussein El Tawil and Louis Gorregues have been dominate for the Owls in doubles this spring going 3-1 out of the second position and 5-0 from the third. Including the fall season, they are 9-1 overall.
- At the completion of these matches, Temple then has the rest of the weekend off and will prepare for the Delaware Blue Hens who visit the Cherry Hill Racquet Club on Wednesday, March 15 for a match scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m.
SCOUTING FDU:
- The Knights will visit Temple as the defending NEC Champions after beating Bryant last April in the championship round and finishing with a 10-12 record during the regular season. Their run came to an end after facing Virginia in the first round of the NCAA Championship losing the match 4-0.
- FDU is 2-0 over their latest stretch collecting wins over Villanova on Saturday, Feb. 25 and most recently over SFU on Sunday, March 5.
- Sophomore Justas Trainauskas leads the Knights with a 7-1 record in singles play and a 4-4 record in doubles with partner Thomas Linley throughout the spring so far. The Lithuanian native went 9-1 in the fall and was named the NEC Player of the Month for September.
- The Knights visited and lost to Navy beat back on Friday, Feb. 24 by a final score of 6-1. Temple visited and beat Navy in a close match on March 5, 4-3.
