Women’s Tennis Suffers Second Loss of Season to Delaware, 6-1

CHERRY HILL, N.J. – The Temple women's tennis team (9-2) suffered their second loss of the season to the Delaware Blue Hens (12-2) by a final score of 6-1 on Wednesday, March 15.

NOTES:

Delaware came out strong winning the doubles point from its pairs in the second and third positions to go up 1-0.
Temple's No. 12 pair Maiko Uchijima and Jamie Wei upset No. 5 Adel-Byanu Abidullina and Eliza Askarov in the first position of doubles by a score of 6-3. They finished their match second of the three to give each team a doubles win. Delaware's Julieta Honrubia and Toni Nelson's win tipped the scale giving UD the point from the third position.
Maiko Uchijima gave Temple its sole point of the afternoon beating Delaware's Mrynasha from the fifth position of singles play. The match took all three sets with Uchijima winning the third set to win the point.
