Men’s Tennis Defeats Xavier 7-0 to Push Win Streak to Thirteen

PHILADELPHIA – Temple men's tennis (13-2) defeated Xavier by a final score of 7-0 on Saturday, March 18. The Owls played host to the Musketeers at the Hecht Tennis Center on Penn's campus.

NOTES:

Temple's Thibault Frumholz and Leo Raquin were called upon in first position of doubles play for the fourth time this spring. With the win on Saturday, they now improve to 10-3 as a doubles pair and 4-0 from the first position.
Frumholz also picked up his tenth singles victory of the spring against Xavier on Saturday. He joins only Marin Delmas and Leo Raquin as the only Owls with 10 singles' wins through the spring.
Marco Pennelli leads Xavier in wins this season with 10 and was 8-1 in his last nine matches. He was handed only his third loss of the spring by Gregoire Barety in the fourth position of singles play. Pennelli and doubles partner Deacon Thomas were tied 4-4 with Barety/Delmas in the second position when El Tawil/Gorregues won the point for the Owls.
Saturday marked the tenth meeting between both schools in tennis. Temple picked up only its second win over Xavier in the matchup.
