Anna Novoseltseva Set for NCAA Championships

PHILADELPHIA - Sophomore foilist Anna Novoseltseva will represent the No. 11 Temple fencing team at the 2023 NCAA Championships, taking to the strip on the big stage for the second year in a row.
Novoseltseva finished 21st at the 2022 NCAA Championships, helping the Owls finish 16th overall. The Grand Rapids, Mich. native finished sixth at Regionals earlier this month, a week after earning the NIWFA Individual Foil title for the second-straight year.
The overall field is comprised of 144 competitors from 28 member institutions. Duke University will host the championships at Cameron Indoor Stadium in Durham, North Carolina, March 25 & 26, 2023.
Fencers will compete in a round-robin format of five-touch bouts. After round robin, the top-four finishers in each weapon will fence in semifinal 15-touch bouts, with winners fencing to determine first and second places, and non-advancing fencers being awarded a tie for third place.

An institution's place finish in the championships will be based on points earned by each individual. A team will be awarded one point for each victory by its student-athletes during round-robin competition.
The opening rounds of the NCAA Championship will begin on March 25 at 11 a.m. Rounds 4 and 5 will be on March 28 at 9 a.m., with the semifinals round to begin at 1:30 p.m.Â
