Women’s Tennis Wins Two of Three on Road Trip Including 6-1 Final Over Patriots

FAIRFAX, VA – Temple women's tennis (12-4) defeated the George Mason Patriots (7-4) by a final score of 6-1 on Sunday, March 26 in Fairfax, VA. The victory marked the second in three days for the Owls.

NOTES:

Temple started with a 1-0 lead behind strong doubles performances. Sena Takebe and Thamara Frasser Kawaratani won their match first followed by the Patriots winning in the second position. Jamie Wei and Maiko Uchijima secured the point in the top spot winning 6-3 over the Paige La and Taylor Garcia.
The Patriots point came from the first position of singles play with Paige La facing Kawaratani with the match going to three sets before La secured the point.
Both Sena Takebe and Jamie Wei secured their tenth singles victory of the spring this afternoon from the second and third positions. They are behind only Uchijima who leads the team with 14 wins so far.
Veronika Kulhava played from the fourth position for the first time this spring. She defeated Jackie Nannery in three sets to pick up her seventh singles victory.
