SCOUTING RIDER:
- Rider is coming off a loss to MAAC opponent Fairfield on Sunday, March 26 by a final score of 1-6. That result marked the fourth straight loss for the Broncs over the past three weeks with their last victory coming against Binghamton on Sunday, Feb. 19.
- The Broncs have back-to-back matches of their own this week playing Mount St. Mary's in Emmitsburg, MD on Wednesday, March 29 before heading to Temple's campus on Thursday.
- Rider lost its two best players in Ally Garofoli and Capucine Thuilot to graduation last spring forcing this year's class to step up. Current junior Agnese Ceccarelli went 4-2 last season in her limited appearances appearing in the fourth, fifth and sixth positions last season.
- Thursday will mark the sixth matchup between Temple and Rider's women's tennis teams. Temple currently leads the series 5-0 with the most recent match taking place on February 7, 2020.
- NJIT will be coming off a 13-day break between matches when they visit Philadelphia to face Temple on Friday morning.
- The Highlanders are currently on a three-game skid dropping matches to Northwestern State, Nicholls, and Southeastern Louisiana over the past two weeks.
- NJIT is led by freshman Paula Menendez Alvarez who has a 7-3 record in spring play so far. She is 7-3 in her last 10 singles play matches with all her appearances coming in the fifth or sixth positions.
- The match against Temple on Friday will mark only the third time both teams have met and the first since 2007. Temple holds the series record 2-0 with the last win coming on February 17, 2007, in Tenafly, NJ.
- Graduate student Joleta Budiman participated in the ITA Super Regionals back in October for NJIT after picking up three wins in the ITA Northeast Regionals earlier in the month. So far this spring, she is 3-1 from the second position of singles play.
