Women’s Tennis Stays Perfect on the Homestand Defeating NJIT 6-1

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's tennis (14-4) defeated NJIT (6-7) by a final score of 6-1 on Friday morning, March 31. The win marks the second in as many days for the Owls as they defeated Rider at the TU Pavilion on March 30.

NOTES:

Temple earned yet another doubles point after a default in the third position followed by a Maiko Uchijima / Jamie Wei victory in the first to give the Owls a 1-0 lead.
NJIT's Shalom Salvi defeated Sena Takebe in three sets to give the Highlander's their only point of the match.
Thamara Frasser Kawaratani picked up her ninth singles victory of the spring, five of which have come in the first position. Today, she defeated NJIT's Shivani Ingle in two sets, 6-4, 6-1.
