Owls Defeat Navy in Annapolis 4-3 to Keep Winning Streak Alive

ANNAPOLIS, Md – The Temple men's tennis team (9-2) wins against the Navy Midshipmen (9-12) on Sunday afternoon, March 5, in a close match with a final score of 4-3 to keep their winning streak alive.

NOTES:

For the first time since late January, Temple was unable to win the doubles point after both the first and second teams for Navy defeated Temple's top pairs. The pairing of Panyan and Garner continues to dominate for Navy now pushing their doubles record to 11-1 on the season.
Temple's Leo Raquin was the first to secure a point for the Owls after completing his match first from the second position to even the score at 1-1. Hussein El Tawil followed behind from the fifth position to give Temple their first lead of the day.
The match was tied at 3-3 and came down to the third position of singles with Gregoire Barety facing Navy's Luke Garner. The second set went to a tiebreak before Barety won the point in the third set, 6-2 giving Temple the victory.
