Nkulume and Nicholson Star in Day One of Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. - On the first day of the Virginia Challenge, Chidumga Nkulume and Laura Nicholson both set new personal bests in a strong showing for the Cherry & While. Additionally, Nicholson claimed victory in her section of the 800m run with a time of 2:06.78.
- Nkulume set her fourth personal best of the season in the 400m dash recording a time of 54.97. Kwanda Knight also PR'd in the event, running a time of 57.37.
- Chelby Elam, Lauren Greig, and Madison Trout ran in the 100m dash. Greig and Trout both ran season best times of 12.13 and 12.36, respectively.
- Tannekee Strachan earned a distance of 12.23m in the triple jump.
- Allie Riches put forth a respectable showing in the pole vault, jumping for a distance of 3.70m (12-1 1/2 ft).
