Track & Field Wraps Up Day Two of the Virginia Challenge

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. – Following a lengthy weather delay, the Temple track & field team finished out a weekend of competition at the Virginia Challenge. The Owls have only one more meet before the postseason begins.
Temple returns to the track next weekend at the University of Pennsylvania for the legendary Penn Relays. Competition begins Thursday at Franklin Field.
- Sprinter Lauren Greig ran her second PR of the season in the 200m dash, recording a time of 25.08 seconds. Chelby Elam and Madison Trout also ran in the event.
- Elvira Bredin clocked a time of 2:10.62 seconds to place 12th in a field of 56 runners in the 800m run.
- Amira Green came in 6th in the high jump with a mark of 1.65m (5-5 ft).
- Tannekee Strachan put forth a season-best showing in the long jump, jumping 5.62 m (18-5 1/2 ft).
- Finally, the 4x400m squad ran a season-best time of 3.47.66m.
