Quante Berry Signs Aid Agreement with Temple Men's Basketball

PHILADELPHIA – Quante Berry, a 6-4, 175-pound freshman guard who redshirted last season at Providence, has signed a men's basketball aid agreement to attend Temple University.  Berry, who will have four seasons of eligibility remaining, becomes the second signee by new head coach Adam Fisher.  He joins Matteo Picarelli, a 6-2, 185-pound guard, who played the last three seasons at UMBC.

"We are very excited to welcome Quante to our Temple Basketball family," said Fisher.  "Quante is a tremendous basketball player and an even better person.  He has the size and athleticism to make plays in transition, get in the paint, and finish at the rim. After redshirting on an NCAA tournament team this past season, we know he is coming to Temple to win. Quante comes from a great basketball family and we are thrilled that he is an Owl!"

"It was a great visit, in little time my family and I felt a great connection with the staff and were able to build a relationship," said Berry.  "With this being Coach Fisher's first year, I believe we all are on the same mission - to win basketball games at Temple."

A native of Cleveland, Tenn., Berry averaged 16 points and six rebounds as a senior at Winston-Salem Christian School in 2021-22. As a junior at Winston-Salem, he averaged 15.6 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game, while shooting 56 percent from the field and 40 percent from beyond the arc.

Ranked as the 43rd ranked point guard by 247sports.com, he averaged 17 points, six rebounds and five assists and earned All-State honors at Bradley Central High School in Tennessee as a sophomore, where he scored over 1,000 points before transferring to Winston-Salem.

Berry joins Picarelli and incoming freshman guard Zion Stanford (6-5, 195), who scored 30 points in the Pennsylvania Class AAA Championship game to lead West Catholic High to its first-ever state championship.
