Owls' Golf to Host the Two-Day Temple Invitational

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – The Temple Golf team will be back in action this Saturday and Sunday as they host the 14-team, 36-hole, Temple Fall Invite at The 1912 Club, the Owls' par-70, 7,062-yard home course.

Previewing the Owls

The Owls will feature two five-team squads and a pair of individual competitors.
Temple's Cherry squad features the same five starters from last weekend's Cornell Fall Invitational. The quintet of Ethan Whitney, Graham Chase, Aidan Emmerich, Jacob Haberstumpf, and Michael Walsh finished second overall with a five-over 573 on the Watchung Valley Golf Club course.
Last week, the junior Whitney shot a three-under 139. Whitney tied for third overall in the field, shooting a 69 in the opening round and ending the 36-hole tournament with a 70.
Transfers Aidan Emmerich (Michigan State) and Jake Haberstumpf (Moravian) led the surge in the final round, each carding two-under 69s. Emmerich tied for 10th at one-over (143) for the tourney while Haberstumpf finished deadlocked for 12th at two-over (144).
Lafayette transfer Michael Walsh rounded out the Owls scorers with a 72 for his final round. He finished the day tied for 21st with a five-over 147.
Senior Graham Chase was seven-over (149) for the tournament to tie for 31st.
The Owls' White team will feature Jake Naese, Matthew Vital, Andrew Curran, Brett McGrath, and Joey Morganti. Excluding Curran, the other four Owls will see their first action of the season.
Curran was the lone White team member to compete last weekend at the Cornell Invitational. The senior played as an individual last weekend and tied with Walsh for 21st with a five-over 147.
Temple will add two individual golfers in the field, including Gregory Hanna and Michael Vital.

Previewing the Field

Along with Temple, other schools competing this weekend are Colgate, Cornell, Dartmouth, Drexel, Francis Marion, Lafayette, Lehigh, Mount Saint Mary's (Md.) Penn, Rhode Island, Rider, and Saint Joseph's.

Tee Times

All teams will start from hole one with the first groups teeing off at 10 a.m. on Saturday and 7 a.m. on Sunday.

On Oct. 2-3, TU will travel to Greenville, N.C. to compete in the two-day Ironwood Collegiate Classic.
