Mashburn Named Preseason First Team All-Conference

IRVING, Texas - Jamal Mashburn Jr was named a First Team Preseason All-AAC pick as announced by the conference on Friday afternoon. As a team, Temple was picked sixth in the American Athletic Conference preseason poll. The poll and preseason teams are voted on by the 13 head coaches in the league. 

Mashburn comes to the Owls as a three-year All-Mountain West performer and helped lead New Mexico to the NCAA Tournament last season with 21 points in the MW championship game against San Diego State. He enters this season with 1,866 career points. 

Temple garnered the sixth spot with 86 points. UAB was selected atop the poll with Memphis in second. South Florida, Wichita State and Florida Atlantic round out the top five.
