Andrew Kempe Records a Clean Sheet as TU Draws Against Conference-Leading Memphis

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's soccer team drew against the conference-leading Memphis Tigers in a hard-fought match on Saturday night at Temple Sports Complex. Andrew Kempe didn't allow a single goal as TU recorded their fourth draw of the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Temple will stay in Philadelphia as TU hosts the Mercyhurst Lakers at Temple Sports Complex on Tuesday, Oct. 15. Kickoff is set for 5:00 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Owls had a strong start offensively, setting up two corner kick chances in the first 10 minutes.
- Andrew Kempe hauled in a clutch save in the 29th minute, denying a Memphis penalty kick.
- Elliot Rigbert was aggressive at the start of the second half with two shots in the 48th minute.
- TU gained momentum between the 73rd and 84th-minute marks with six attempted shots.
- Andrew Kempe allowed zero goals for the second time this season. His previous clean sheet was in Temple's match against American (Sept. 2).
- Elliot Rigbert recorded four shots, with two on goal. These marks are season-highs, besting the freshman's performance in TU's match against Saint Joseph's (Sept. 24).
- Temple's back line of Kemali Green, Diego Diaz, Paolo Kampula and Nikolai Zapolskikh played a pivotal role as the Owls held Memphis to just three shots on goal. Temple bested this mark on offense with four shots aimed at the net.
- Andrew Kempe upped his save percentage to .818, leading the AAC Conference.
- Memphis was held scoreless for the first time in AAC play and the first time overall this season since Sept. 5.
