Women's Rowing Begins With Strong Performances at Navy Day Regatta

PHILADELPHIA – The Temple women's rowing team opened its season with some strong performances at the Navy Day Regatt, held on the Schuylkill River on Sunday.
The Collegiate 8+ "A" boat, rowing in Baddie and comprised of Alex Catalano (coxswain), Samantha Schuberth (stroke), Amelia Chisnall, Katie Hale, Elizabeth Kaidasz, Lilly Dulin, Sophia Manning, Lauren Sobieski and Niamh Kiely (bow) finished in the top third of the field, placing eighth of 24 boats with a time of 15:39.270. That mark was also second best among non-Ivy city schools.
The JV8+ took home a seventh place finish. Competing in Alexa, Isabella Godin (coxswain), Kate Gordon (stroke), Nina Crandell, Zoe Carlson, Vytaute Mikalauskaite, Andrea Halpin, Serafima Ardasheva, Amanda Morelli and Lucy Yanella (bow) crossed the finish line in 16:21.870
Temple returns to the water on Saturday, October 26 when it competes at the Head of the Schuylkill Regatta.
