PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's tennis faced tough competition at the ITA Regionals hosted by the University of Pennsylvania, with each player bowing out in the first round. Despite the early exits, the Owls gained valuable experience against some of the top players in the region while providing an opportunity to assess areas for growth as the season progresses.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Martim Marujo faced a tough challenge against Penn's Charl Morgan, ultimately losing 6-4, 7-6 (3). Despite the loss, Marujo showcased his competitive spirit, particularly in the second set, where he pushed Morgan—who had 15 singles victories last season—into a tiebreak before ultimately falling short.
Aayush Bhat and Pranav Nemani put up an intense fight against Princeton's Landon Ardila, who holds an 18-13 doubles record, alongside Meecah Bigun, who reached a career-high ITF World Junior ranking of No. 63. Pushing the match to a tiebreaker, Bhat and Nemani showcased their teamwork and determination before ultimately falling 8-7 (3), highlighting their potential as a competitive doubles duo despite the narrow loss.

UP NEXT
The Owls will return to action next week, as they will head to Houston for AAC Fall Championships. Tournament play will begin Thursday (Oct. 24) and close Monday (Oct. 27).
