Mashburn Garners AAC Recognition for Second Straight Week

IRVING, Texas - Jamal Mashburn Jr. has been named an Honorable Mention in the American Athletic Conference weekly awards as announced by the AAC on Monday afternoon. It is the second time in as many weeks this season he has garnered the accolade.Â
Mashburn continued his torrid start to the season averaging 21.5 points and 4.0 assists per game, shooting 5-for-10 from three-point range in a pair of contests for the Owls. He dropped 23 with four dimes and was 4-for-7 from beyond the arc at Boston College on Friday. Earlier in the week, he had 20 points along with five rebounds and four assists in a win against Philadelphia Big 5 rival Drexel. He has scored 20 or more points in each game this season, the second stretch in his career where he has 20+ points in four consecutive games.Â
The Owls return to action on Thursday and Friday in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off, facing Florida State on November 22 and UMass on November 23. Both games are schedule for 5:00 p.m.
