How it Happened
- Tulane opened the scoring on the opening drive with a four-yard rushing touchdown from Hughes. This made the score 7-0 Green Wave with 10:16 remaining in the first quarter.
- A 53-yard touchdown pass from Tulane QB Darian Mensah to WR Shazz Preston extended the Green Wave lead to 14-0 with 11:03 left to play in the first half.
- The Green Wave took a 21-0 advantage on a two-yard rushing touchdown by Arnold Barnes III with 5:14 remaining in the first half.
- Hughes found the endzone for the second time on the day; this time a 3-yard rushing touchdown with 1:45 left in the second quarter which made the score 28-0 Tulane.
- An interception by Jamel Johnson with 0:01 remaining ended Tulane's final possession of the first half.
- Barnes added to Tulane's lead with a five-yard rushing touchdown, giving the Green Wave a 35-0 lead with 8:11 left in the third quarter.
- Tulane kept adding, this time on a play action pass to TE Alex Bauman for the 6-yard touchdown. The score extended the Green Wave lead to 42-0 with 5:23 remaining in the third quarter.
- Tulane added three more points off the toe of Patrick Durkin to make the score 45-0 with 14:16 left to play.
- Green Wave quarterback Ty Thompson rushed for a 50-yard touchdown to give Tulane a 52-0 lead with 7:24 left.
- Temple got on the board thanks to a 75-yard rushing touchdown from RB Terrez Worthy. The subsequent 2-point conversion failed, making the score 52-6 Tulane with 7:09 remaining in the game.
Statistically Speaking
- LBs Tyquan King and D.J. Woodbury led all players with 12 and 10 tackles, respectively. The two lead the Owls in that statistic, and entered the week ranking 2nd and 3rd in tackles per game within the American Athletic Conference.
