Track & Field travels to New York for Scarlet Knight Open

NEW YORK, N.Y. — The Temple women's track & field program is set to compete at the Scarlet Knight Open in New York City this weekend.
The Cherry & White will send 20 athletes to compete at the New York Armory in Manhattan for a two-day competition. The meet marks the third consecutive weekend competition in New York for the Owls.
Last time out
- The Owls saw a historic weekend at the Dr. Sander Invitational in pole vault and triple jump, as Inara Shell and Cierra Crane moved up the Temple record books.
- Crane set a new personal record in the pole vault, clearing 3.75 meters (12-03.5) to move into second place in the Owls' record book in pole vault.
- Shell also moved into second place in Temple's record book in her respective event, jumping 12.58 meters (41-03.25) to set a new personal record.
- Amira Green placed fifth in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.70 meters (5-07).
- Jade Pope led the way for Temple in the 400 meters, placing 11th with a time of 57.53.
- Shell and Obiamaka Igwenagu both placed in the top 15 in the long jump.
Day 1
- Fiona Carter will get things started for the Owls in the women's pentathlon.
- In the 60 meters, the Cherry & White will be represented by Nya Browne, Madison Trout, and Allyson Metzger. Browne will double up and also compete in the 60-meter hurdles.
- The Owls are set to have four athletes compete in the 200 meters: Jade Pope, Browne, Trout, and Metzger. Pope will be Temple's representative in the 400 meters as well. In the 600 meters, Laila Cottom will compete for the Owls.
- Temple's 4x200 meter relay team will consist of Brown, Pope, Trout, and Metzger.
- Emma-Kate Watt and Jillian Wolk will represent the Owls in the one mile.
- In pole vault, Cierra Crane will look to continue her success from one week ago. She will be joined by Aliza White Vega and Reece Sullivan.
- Inara Shell, Obiamaka Igwenagu, and Reagan Schwartz are slated to compete for Temple in the long jump.
Day 2
- The action carries into day two, as Carter will wrap up the competitions in the pentathlon.
- Wolk and Watt will retake the track, competing in the 800 meters on day two. In the 3,000 meters, Elsa Chan will represent the Owls.
- Amira Green and Nicole Castor will look to keep in good form in the high jump. In triple, the Owls will deploy Igwenagu, Shell, and Schwartz.
Where the Owls rank
- Amira Green is currently the fourth-ranked high jumper in the AAC, with a season-best height of 1.75 meters. Nicole Castor is not far behind at 1.65 meters to rank eighth.
- Nya Browne ranks 10th in the 60-meter hurdles, with a time of 8.78.
- In pole vault, Allie Riches' height of 4.10 meters ranks third in the conference and Cierra Crane's mark of 3.75 meters is currently sixth best. Aliza White Vega's height of 3.65 meters ranks 10th.
- Inara Shell is second in the AAC in triple jump (12.58 meters) and eighth in long jump (5.89 meters). Obiamaka Igwenagu's 12.22 meters in the long jump is good for fifth best in the conference

The Cherry & White will hit the road to Boston, Massachusetts, to compete at the Valentine Invitational. The two-day meet begins on Feb. 9.
