Golf Places Ninth in Wexford Intercollegiate

HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Owls wrapped up their final round of the Wexford Intercollegiate with a 16-over, 304. Their 36-over, 900, placed them in ninth in the 18-team field. Sophomore Aidan Emmerich once again shined for the Owls notching his sixth top-20 finish on the season.

Recapping the Day

The team finished second overall in total pars with 169, trailing Georgia State's, 177.
Emmerich led the team with a score of 222 (+9), marking his fourth time leading the Owls this season. With scores of 73,72, and 77, Emmerich placed in a t-20^th.
Senior Graham Chase carded a 11-over, 224, placing his tied for 26^th overall. He bounced back after his rocky front-nine in the final round by scoring a two-under 34 on the back. The North Carolina native was one of 20 players in the field to score even or better on par 3's.
Junior Michael Walsh shot a three-over 74 on the final day, the best score on the team. He finished with teams third best score with a 229 after shooting 77, 78 on the first two days.
Juniors Ethan Whitney and Joey Morganti rounded out the Owls, both carding an overall score of 230.

The Field

Georgia State claimed first place in the tournament after an impressive final day, scoring a combined team score of three-over. The Panthers leaped USC Aiken after the Pacers stumbled on day three, shooting 14-over.
Three individuals tied for first place with a score of even-par: Winthrop's Mason Tucker, Georgia State's Connor MacMillan, and Aiken's Oscar Abrahamsson.

The Owls get a week off but will remain in South Carolina for their next tournament where they will compete in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. The two-day tournament will be held at Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken, S.C. from March 4-5.
