Owls Finish Eighth Overall In Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C.- The Owls finished in eighth place after the final day of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate. The team had a combined team score of 869, 29-over. Temple finished tied with the most pars of any team for the tournament with 173 total. 
 
 
 
Recapping the Day
 
  • Junior Joey Morganti led the Owls over the three rounds shooting five-over, placing him tied-15th. This is his second top-20 finish on the season. Morganti shot the only sub-70 round for the Owls in the tournament with his 68 in round one. 
  • Ethan Whitney had the second-best overall scores on the day, shooting a three 73s and placing him in tied-26th overall.
  • Senior Graham Chase shot the best score for the team in day three with a one-over 71. Him and Junior Michael Walsh both shot a pair of 220s over the three rounds placing them in a tie for 31st. 
 
 
The Field 
 
  • Davidson College won the tournament after shooting one-under in the final day of the tournament, passing host, South Carolina Aiken. They shot a five-over, 845, on the week, winning the tournament by six strokes. 
  • Individually, Rory McDonald O'Brien of South Carolina Aiken narrowly took first place carding an overall score of three-under, 207. 
 
 
Up Next 
 
The Owls will get a week off before heading to Brook Valley Golf Club in Greenville, N.C. to compete in the ECU Intercollegiate from March 18-19.
