Men's Basketball has Two Named to All-Big 5 Teams

PHILADELPHIA – Two players from the 2023-24 Temple University men's basketball team were recognized by the Big 5 on Monday in the organization's annual awards. Hysier Miller was named the Most Improved Player and to the Second Team with Jordan Riley being named Honorable Mention.
Miller saw his scoring average increase from 8.6 points per game in 2022-23 to 15.9 last season, ranking ninth in the AAC. He was sixth in the conference at 4.0 assists an outing. He scored in double figures 30 times and topped 20 points on 10 occasions. He was selected as the Big 5 Player of the Week on November 20 and was on the honor roll three times.
Riley was named to the Big 5 honor roll twice during the season and averaged 11.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game. He recorded four double-doubles including back-to-back efforts in the AAC tournament against Charlotte and FAU in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. He scored a career-high 23 against Tulane on February 4.
Temple finished last season with eight wins in its final 11 games and became the first team in AAC tournament history to win four games in four days at the league's showcase event. The Owls recently added transfers Jamal Mashburn Jr., Lynn Greer III and Jameel Brown to the 2024-25 roster, adding to a returning core that includes Steve Settle III, Matteo Picarelli, Shane Dezonie, Zion Stanford, Quante Berry and Connor Gal.
