PHILADELPHIA – The Temple men's tennis team (6-11) broke its losing streak in a thrilling 6-1 victory over Hampton (2-12). Before the match, the Owls celebrated senior Gregoire Barety for his hard work over the past four years.

NOTES:

Temple won the doubles point with two 6-1 victories. Paul Hannack and Martim Marujo secured the first win from the second position where the duo defeated Hampton's Benedict Banza/Shine Tokas. Dante Russo and Gregoire Barety solidified Temple's point after dominating Donte Armbrister/Emiliano Jorquera.
Aside from a second position loss, the Owls won five of six singles matches. Erden Er earned the first singles point for Temple as he defeated Arora, 6-1, 6-1. Maj Najvirt Kolaric followed suit with a sixth position victory against Banza, 6-1, 6-0. Henrique Petiz dominated Tokas from the fourth position with a 6-2, 6-1 score. Temple's fifth point was achieved by Alberto Blumenschein who took down Armbrister, 6-2, 6-2. The final point was secured by Russo as he earned a 6-4, 7-5 win over Jorquera.
