PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's basketball team continues to build its 2024-25 roster, adding some size as the team announced the signing of Elijah Gray on Tuesday.
"We are very excited to welcome Elijah to the Temple basketball family! Elijah possesses great versatility with his ability to play inside and outside," said head coach Adam Fisher. "He gives us much needed size in the front court and a great skill set. He comes from a basketball family and we know that he will be a great addition on and off the court in our community."
Gray spent the past two seasons at Fordham, averaging 8.4 points and 3.7 rebounds a contest last season, playing in 32 games with nine starts for the Rams. The 6'8" forward from Charlotte, N.C. had 12 games with 10 or more points, including a career-best 22 at George Washington to open A10 play on January 3. Gray averaged 9.4 points per game in his starts, which included a 19 point, eight rebound effort at NCAA Tournament participant Duquesne on January 27. He also led Fordham in free throw percentage, shooting 76.7 percent from the line.
"I chose Temple because they made it clear that I was a priority for them," said Gray. "I also loved their attention to detail and the connectivity among the coaches. It's a great school academically and it also has a great campus, so I feel like I'll be able to go and thrive in that environment."
Gray appeared in 29 games for the Rams as a freshman, averaging 2.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 7.7 minutes an outing. He is a graduate of Hargrave Military Academy where he posted 17.1 points and 8.2 rebounds a contest as a senior, shooting 58 percent from the floor.
