Temple Women’s Track and Field Competes at Penn Select Meet

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's track and field competed at the Penn Select this Friday, at The Ott Center in South Philadelphia. The Cherry & White athletes delivered strong performances across multiple events, setting four personal best and two season's best in this weekend's competition.

Results
> To open the meet, Senior Amira Green placed third in the high jump clearing 1.67 meters (5-05.75).
> In the sprints Allyson Metzger placed 13th in the 60-meter dash, setting a personal best of 7.84 seconds. Lila Ziegler finished 26th in 8.06 seconds, while Siani Brown-Carr took 34th in 8.14 seconds. In the 200-meter dash, Nya Browne ran a personal best of 24.65 to place third, with Metzger closely behind in sixth at 25.12 seconds. Ziegler finished 32nd with a time of 27.34 seconds.
>In the hurdles Browne took third place with a personal best of 8.49 seconds, while Chloe Smith finished 12th, also setting a personal best with 9.06 seconds.
> Four freshmen raced in the 400-meter dash, with Mariah Jameson leading the way in 10th place with a time of 57.90 seconds. Grace Hickman placed 21st (1:00.88), Jayla Green took 23rd (1:01.50), and Maliah Powell finished 27th (1:02.18).
> Freshman Deja Scott matched her season-best mark with a jump of 5.27 meters (17-03.50). Sophomore Reagan Schwartz set a season-best of 5.23 meters (17-02.00) in the long jump and placed 8th in the triple jump with a distance of 11.39 meters (37-04.50).
> In the pole vault, senior Aliza White Vega placed 5th clearing 3.65 meters (11-11.75). Reece Sullivan cleared a personal best 3.20 meters (10-06.00).
> The freshman quartet of Jameson, Hickman, Green, and Smith ran a season-best time of 3:58.34 to close out the meet.

The Owls will remain in Philadelphia for the Quaker Invitational at the Ott Center next weekend. The invitational is a two-day meet scheduled for Friday, January 17th and Saturday, January 18th.
