Temple Women’s Track and Field Travels to the Big Apple for the Weekend

PHILADELPHIA- Temple women's track and field will compete at the Dr. Sander Scorcher, formerly known as the Dr. Sander Columbia Challenge, on January 24-25. The two-day event will take place at The Armory in New York City, with live coverage available for those with a RunnerSpace +PLUS subscription.
Previewing the Owls
>At last weekend's Quaker Invitational, the Owls set four personal bests across 10 events. Sophomore Nya Browne is currently ranked third in the American Athletic Conference in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.49.
>Temple will be represented by 16 athletes throughout the two-day meet.
> In the field events, five Owls will compete: Amira Green (high jump), Reagan Schwartz (long jump and triple jump), Deja Scott (long jump), Reece Sullivan (pole vault), and Aliza White Vegas (pole vault).
>In the short sprints, Nya Browne will race in the 60 meters, 60-meter hurdles, and 200 meters. Allyson Metzger will compete in the 60 meters and 200 meters, while Mariah Jameson joins Browne and Metzger in the 200 meters.
> Five athletes will race in the 400 meters, Grace Hickman, Mariah Jameson, Jade Pope, Maliah Powell and Chloe Smith.
> In the distance events, Laila Cottom will run the 800 meters and Amelia Sabatino in the 3,000 meters.
> The meet will conclude with Temple's 4x400 meter relay team in action.
> Running unattached, Francesco Candiani , Jimmy Koel , Graham Thomas and David Troy will compete in the 3,000 meters.
