Mashburn Jr. Named to AAC Weekly Honorable Mention List

PHILADELPHIA - After an impressive showing in the American Athletic Conference opener on Friday, Temple graduate student Jamal Mashburn Jr. was named to the AAC's Men's Basketball Weekly Honorable Mention list.
The 6-2 guard was one of five players who were designated honorable mention after putting together a 24-point, four-rebound, four-assist performance in a 91-85 win over Wichita State at Liacouras Center. Mashburn Jr. scored 13 of his team-high scoring total in the opening half and shot an even 50.0 percent from the field (8-16 FG) en route to his ninth game this season of 20 or more points.
On the year, Mashburn Jr. ranks third in the AAC in scoring at 20.4 points per game. With the win, the Owls improved to 1-0 in the early going of conference play and have won all six games played at Liacouras Center this season.
Temple men's basketball returns to action on Wednesday, Jan. 8, for a road tilt at East Carolina. The Owls return home on Thursday, January 16 for a matchup with nationally-ranked Memphis. That game will tip at 7:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased by visiting OwlsTix.com.
