PHILADELPHIA – Temple University men's basketball head coach Adam Fisher announced Wednesday the hiring of Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree as director of player development.
Cosby-Roundtree most recently served as a video assistant with the Brooklyn Nets.
"We are excited to welcome Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree to our staff," said Fisher. "Dhamir comes to us after spending the past two seasons with the Brooklyn Nets. He has been part of championship teams and has played and worked for incredible coaches in high school and college. His NBA experience, along with his ability to connect with our players and his passion for the game, will be a major asset to our program.
During his two seasons with the Nets, Cosby-Roundtree assisted the coaching staff in preparing for games by analyzing and organizing film, as well as taking on scouting responsibilities. He also worked in player development, leading individual workouts with the goal of maximizing each player's ability.
No stranger to Philadelphia or the Big 5, the Neumann-Goretti and Villanova graduate starred during his playing career.
A team captain at Villanova, Cosby-Roundtree appeared in all 40 games as a true freshman during the Wildcats' 2017-18 national championship season. Along with the 2018 national championship, the Philadelphia native helped Villanova to an NCAA Final Four appearance in 2022, as well as four BIG EAST regular-season and three tournament championships during his tenure as a Wildcat. Villanova posted a 134-36 record with Cosby-Roundtree on the roster.
"I want to thank Coach Fisher and Temple University for giving me the opportunity to be a part of their program," said Cosby-Roundtree. "Temple Basketball has a rich history of success, and I'm excited to get back home to Philadelphia. Let's get to work! Go Owls!"
Following his playing career, Cosby-Roundtree served as an assistant coach at Cristo Rey High School, less than two miles north of Temple's campus. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he assisted with academic support while pursuing multiple master's degrees.
At Neumann-Goretti, he led the Saints to a 24-7 record and an appearance in the Philadelphia Catholic League championship game. He averaged 15.9 points, 11.5 rebounds and 3.5 blocks as a senior, and helped lead Neumann-Goretti to four PIAA state championships during his high school career.
Cosby-Roundtree graduated with a bachelor's degree in liberal arts in 2021 and earned a master's degree in education and counseling in 2023 from Villanova.
