COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) announced Wednesday that Temple University field hockey midfielders Lucia Magro and Peyton Rieger were named to the NFHCA All-Region Mid-Atlantic Second Team.
Both Magro and Rieger earned major conference honors from the BIG EAST, with Rieger named Co-Offensive Player of the Year and Magro selected as Freshman of the Year. Both also were named to the All-BIG EAST First Team.
Magro capped her freshman season with 20 points on nine goals and two assists — the most by an Owl freshman since 1987, when all-time points leader Jane Catanzaro tallied 35 points. She posted three game-winning goals and earned three BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors, along with two selections to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Rieger was a force from start to finish in her senior campaign, recording 10 goals and seven assists for 27 points — the most by a Temple player since Alyssa Delp's 37-point senior season in 2015. She closed her career in style, scoring her fifth game-winning goal of the year in overtime of a 3-2 win over Providence. Rieger tied for second in the conference in both points and goals and ranked seventh in assists. She earned two BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors and twice landed on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll.
Temple closed the 2025 season with a 12-6 record.
