Stanford Named AAC Honorable Mention, Big 5 Honor Roll for Second Consecutive Week

IRVING, Texas – After leading the Temple men's basketball team in points, rebounds and assists in wins over Tulsa and North Texas, sophomore guard Zion Stanford was named to the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Honorable Mention list for the second straight week, the league announced Monday.
Stanford averaged team highs of 17 points, seven rebounds and 4.5 assists against the Golden Hurricane and Mean Green, as the Owls head into the AAC Championship on a three-game winning streak.
The Philadelphia native posted 20 points, seven rebounds and five assists in an 81-77 road win at Tulsa. He then contributed 14 points, seven rebounds and four assists in Temple's 72-60 victory over North Texas at the Liacouras Center on Sunday.
Over the final five games of the regular season, Stanford is averaging 19 points and 7.5 rebounds as the Owls head into postseason play.
Temple will open its conference tournament slate on Thursday at 7 p.m. in the second round of the AAC Championship against Tulsa at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
