Owls Travel to Maryland for Towson Invitational

PHILADELPHIA — Temple women's track and field is set to head to Towson, Maryland, for the 2025 Towson Invitational, hosted by Towson University. The Owls will face off against more than 20 teams over the course of the two-day meet.

>In their outdoor season opener, the Cherry & White secured two event victories and recorded three personal bests.
>Nya Browne clocked a personal-best time of 13.99 seconds in the 100-meter hurdles, earning a second-place finish.
>Laila Cottom set a new personal best in the 400 meters, running 59.02 to finish eighth.
>Emma-Kate Watt opened her outdoor season with a personal-best time of 4:51.97 in the 1500 meters.
Previewing the Owls
>Temple will be represented by five athletes competing in the jumps. Amira Green in the high jump. In the long jump, Shalisha Robertson, Deja Scott, and Olabisi Adams will compete, while Shalisha Robertson and Reagan Schwartz will also take part in the triple jump.
>In the distance events, Emma-Kate Watt will run the 1500 meters.
>For the sprints, Dicia Watkins and Allyson Metzger will compete in the 200 meters, while Allyson Metzger, Nya Browne, and Siani Brown-Carr will line up for the 100 meters. Nya Browne will also race in the 100-meter hurdles.
>In the 400-meter hurdles, Chloe Smith will be the sole Owl competing.
>Six athletes are entered in the 400 meters: Terren Bolton, Maliah Powell, Jayla Green, Maya Gomes, Laila Cottom, and Mariah Jameson.
>In the pole vault, Aliza White Vega and Reece Sullivan will represent the Owls.
>Temple will conclude the meet with a 4x400-meter relay with the pool featuring Dicia Watkins, Allyson Metzger, Maliah Powell, Jayla Green, Maya Gomes, Laila Cottom, Jade Pope, and Mariah Jameson.
