Women's Tennis Secures Victory Over Rider

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Women's tennis secured a dominant 6-1 victory over Rider, claiming the doubles point and winning five of six singles matches.

How It Happen

The Owls set the tone early in doubles, taking two of the three courts to earn the opening point. Irmak Ozturk and Nina Andreoni locked in a 6-2 win at No. 2 against Maria Buss and Chloe Monachelli, while Marianthi Christoforidou and Aditi Vaidya matched the scoreline with a 6-2 victory over Sofia Gutierrez and Meadow LaDuke at No. 3.
Temple carried its momentum into singles, claiming five of the six matchups. Ozturk battled a tough three-setter at No. 1, defeating Laila Fishman 3-6, 7-5, 6-4. Kelly Richter followed with a decisive 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 2 over Buss, while Christoforidou added to the tally with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Brown at No. 3.
Maria Martinez took a commanding 6-1, 3-0 lead over Naves at No. 4 before the match was retired. Andreoni secured another win for the Owls with a 6-1, 6-4 triumph over Monachelli at No. 5, and Vaidya closed out the match with a dominant 6-0, 6-1 performance against Elle Catanzarite at No. 6..
