Browne Breaks School Record in 100m Hurdles in Tampa

TAMPA, FL- Women's track and field competed at the USF Invitational this weekend and faced off against 35 plus teams in 11 events. Four Owls set personal bests and two Owls set a season's best at the USF Invitational.Â

> To open the meet, Shalisha Robertson placed 19th in the long jump and 18th in the triple jump with a personal best leap of 11.58 meters. Reagan Schwartz jumped a personal best 12.19 meters in the triple jump and finished 10th.Â
> Senior Inara Shell opened her season with a leap of 12.52 meters for 6th place.Â
> In the pole vault Aliza White Vega cleared 3.75 meters for 16th place and Reece Sullivan finished 19th.
> Amira Green was a part of a five way tie for 3rd place in the high jump clearing 1.65 meters.Â
>Â Nya Browne finished 3rd in the 100 meters hurdles in a time of 13.42 breaking a 37 year old school record. Browne also ran 24.55 in the 200 meter dash.
> In the 400 meter dash, Mariah Jameson led the way with a season's best in a time of 55.94. Jade Pope followed closely, finishing 16th running a season's best 56.02.
> Allyson Metzger ran a personal best 12.15 in the 100 meter dash and 25.20 in the 200 meter dash.
> Laila Cottom set a personal best 2:18.91 and Maya Gomes ran 2:19.77 finishing 18th and 20th in the 800 meters.Â
> In the 400 meter hurdles Chloe Smith ran 1:04.15.
> To conclude the meet the Owls ran 3:52.64 in the 1600 meter relay.Â
