Owls Finish Up Play at Princeton Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Temple men's golf team wrapped up the final round of the Princeton Invitational on Sunday, with senior Ethan Whitney leading the way. Whitney was the top finisher for the Owls as he tied for 11th at three-over par 145. As a team, Temple finished in 10th place, ahead of Philadelphia schools Saint Joseph's and Penn.

- The Owls struggled for much of the afternoon on Sunday, carding just six birdies as a team - three of which came from freshman Mason Tomé.
- Starting off at the 10th hole, Whitney registered back-to-back birdies on the 8th and 9th holes to make the turn at one-under par on the day and two-under for the tournament.
- The back nine proved difficult for the Westminster, Mass. native, as he scored a 39 (+4) to finish the day at three-over par 74.
- Senior Joey Morganti was two shots back of Whitney at 76, while junior Aidan Emmerich shot 77.
- Host Princeton put together an impressive seven-under par round of 277 - the lowest round on the day by 14 strokes - to take home the team title.
- Reed Greyserman shot five-under par for the Tigers, and won the individual championship by three strokes.
- The Owls head to Florida for the American Athletic Conference Championship, starting Monday, April 21.
- The three-day, 54-hole event will take place at the Ritz-Carlton Members Golf Club in Bradenton.
