Men's Crew Prepares for City Championship with Bergen Cup Regatta on Saturday

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's crew team will return to the Schuylkill River for the Bergen Cup Regatta on Saturday. The Owls, whose Varsity 8 boat is ranked No. 16 in the latest IRCA/IRA Top 25 poll, will square off against city rivals Drexel, La Salle, Saint Joseph's, and Villanova.

The Bergen Cup is a prestigious rowing trophy awarded annually to the winner of the Varsity 8+ race among Philadelphia's collegiate rowing programs.
ABOUT THE OWLS
- Temple is coming off an impressive showing in Massachusetts last weekend.
- The V8 earned wins over nationally-ranked Holy Cross and Hobart, as well as staying within striking distance against No. 12 Boston University.
- The Owls' second varsity also defeated Holy Cross, Hobart, and Marist.
- In other action back in Philadelphia, the novice eight and junior varsity four boats competed at the Kerr Cup.
