MIAMI – The Miami Heat have signed Temple University men's basketball forward Steve Settle III to an Exhibit 10 contract.
Settle spent the past two seasons at Temple following his first three collegiate seasons at Howard.
An Exhibit 10 contract is a one-year, non-guaranteed NBA minimum-salary deal that can be converted into a two-way contract before the season starts. If the player is waived and joins the team's G League affiliate for at least 60 days, he can earn a bonus.
Settle averaged 12.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while leading Temple in both rebounding and blocked shots during the 2024-25 season. He ranked third on the Owls in scoring and reached double figures in 24 games, including 12 straight to end his collegiate career. He recorded five or more rebounds in 21 contests and tallied four double-doubles on the year, most notably a 21-point, 10-rebound effort at South Florida on Feb. 6.
Efficient on both ends of the floor, Settle shot 47.8 percent from the field, 41.6 percent from three-point range and 73.6 percent from the free-throw line. He was even sharper in AAC play, connecting on 50.8 percent of his shots and 46.6 percent from beyond the arc.
A two-time All-MEAC selection at Howard, Settle earned All-Big 5 honorable mention this past season.
The native of Glenarden, Maryland, closed his collegiate career with 1,485 points, 706 rebounds, 177 assists, 162 steals and 118 blocks across 128 games.
