Temple Men’s Soccer to Kick Off 2025 Campaign vs. St. John’s

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's soccer team will kick off the 2025 season, hosting the St. John's Red Storm at Temple Sports Complex on Thursday, Aug. 21. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. with the action streaming exclusively on ESPN+.
Scouting Temple
This will be the fifth all-time meeting between Temple and St. Johns. Their last encounter was in 2017 where the Red Storm was victorious in a 2-0 finish.

Scouting Temple
- Head Coach Bryan Green has signed 10 newcomers for the 2025 season, including six freshmen and four transfers.
- Transfer Preston Neal, Freshman Dylan Kaye, and Sophomore Diego Dauzier round up the revamped goalkeeper room for the Owls.
- Key returners include 2024 assist co-leader Lukas Egarter, shots co-leader Elliot Rigbert, and Charlie Votel, who leads all returners in shots on goal.
- Defensively, Paolo Kampula and Jayden Jackson return after helping TU match a program record with a five-game shutout streak, first set in 1959.
- St. John's finished its 2024 campaign with a 9-6-5 record, placing second in the East Division of the Big East.
- The Red Storm advanced to the second round of the Big East Tournament in 2024 before falling to Providence, 2-1.
- St. John's features a retooled roster with 11 freshmen joining nine returners for the 2025 season.
- The Red Storm are led by Head Coach Dr. David Masur. Masur is the second-winningest coach in Division I and is entering his 35th season as head coach for the Johnnies.
