American Conference Men’s Basketball Schedule Revealed

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference announced its 2025-26 men's basketball schedule Thursday morning.

As outlined in the league's men's basketball matrix released in July, Temple will play home-and-home matchups with Tulane, Florida Atlantic, East Carolina, UTSA, Charlotte and Rice. The Owls will host single games against South Florida, UAB and North Texas at the Liacouras Center, while traveling for single contests at Memphis, Wichita State and Tulsa.

Following the nonconference finale against Princeton on Dec. 22, Temple opens league play on New Year's Eve at Charlotte. The Owls then begin 2026 with back-to-back home games against UTSA (Jan. 3) and East Carolina (Jan. 7).

Temple will travel to Memphis on Jan. 14 in its lone meeting with the defending American champion. The Owls return home to face FAU (Jan. 18) before a Texas road swing at Rice (Jan. 21) and UTSA (Jan. 24). The first half of the conference slate concludes with home contests against Charlotte (Jan. 28) and South Florida (Jan. 31).

To open February, Temple plays at East Carolina (Feb. 7) and Tulane (Feb. 11), then hosts North Texas (Feb. 15) and UAB (Feb. 18). The Owls close the month with road trips to Wichita State (Feb. 21) and FAU (Feb. 25).

Temple opens March with its final two regular-season home games against Rice (March 1) and Tulane (March 4), before concluding the regular season at Tulsa (March 8).

Beginning this season, the 2026 American Men's Basketball Championship will feature the top 10 teams in a new five-day bracket format. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will advance directly to the semifinals, while the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds will maintain byes to the quarterfinals. The No. 5 and No. 6 seeds will receive byes to the second round. The 2026 Championship will run Wednesday through Sunday, March 11-15 at the Legacy Arena at the BJCC in Birmingham, Alabama.
