Women's Track & Field Look to Continue Momentum at the Quaker Invite

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University's women's indoor track and field team is set to compete this Saturday, Jan. 17 at the Quaker Invite. This meet will be held at the Ott Center located in South Philadelphia and is hosted by Penn. The jumping events will commence at 11:30 a.m. followed by the running events at 1:30 p.m. The meet will air live on ESPN+.

Previewing The Owls

There will be a total of 21 athletes representing Temple this weekend across 11 events.
Competing in the jumps is Emelie Beckman (pole vault), Aly Doyle (60mH and long jump), Smilla Ranebro (high jump), Kamryn Ohm (pole vault), Deja Scott (triple jump), Inara Shell (long jump), and Reece Sullivan (pole vault).
Ta'Laiya Mellerson, Janae Pettaway, and Lila Ziegler will all race in the 60m dash.
Running in the 200m is Laila Cottom, Maya Gomes, Mellerson, Kenya Merritt, Pettaway, and Ziegler.
Mariah Jameson, Maliah Powell, Chloe Smith, Dicia Watkins, and Briyel Brown will compete in the 400m. This will be Brown's first race of the season.
Representing Temple in the 500m race is Cottom, Gomes, Kei-Mahri Hanna, and Grace Hickman.
Reese Morgan will be the only Owl running in the mile.
Temple will have seven athletes competing in the final event, the 4x400m relay, and they are Cottom, Hannah, Hickman, Merritt, Powell, Smith, and Watkins.

Other schools that will be competing alongside Temple are Army, Delaware, LaSalle, Lehigh, Miami, Monmouth, Penn, Princeton, Rutgers, St. Joe's, and Villanova.
