Women's Track & Field Gained Valuable Experience at Quaker Invite

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University's women's track & field team competed at the Quaker Invite at the Ott Center yesterday afternoon. The team competed against 11 other schools. Freshman Aly Doyle finished second in the 60mH with a time of 8.77. She also reached a distance of 5.66m (18'-7") in the long jump which gave her a third-place finish.

Results

Deja Scott set a new personal record in the triple jump with a distance of 11.55m (37'-10.75") which was good for seventh out of 11 competitors.
Emelie Beckman achieved a height of 3.92m (12'-10.25") in the pole vault which put her in fifth place. Kamryn Ohm cleared the bar at 3.62m (11'-10.5") which put her in tenth place. Also, Reece Sullivan finished with a height of 3.32m (10'-10.75") putting her in 13th.
Smilla Ranebro set a new personal record in the high jump with a height of 1.58m (5'-2.25"). Putting her in a tie for sixth.
Lila Ziegler set a new personal record in the 200m dash after coming across the line with a time of 25.74. Janae Pettaway finished with a time of 26.27. Right behind her was Laila Cottom with a time of 26.90.
Mariah Jameson clocked in with a time of 57.39 in the 400m race, which put her in seventh among 24 athletes. Chloe Smith came in ninth after setting a new personal record with a time of 58.61. Sophomore Briyel Brown also set a new personal record after coming across the line with a time of 59.47. Dicia Watkins finished with a time of 1:02:00. Maliah Powell was right behind her with a time of 1:03:18.
In the 500m race, freshman Kei-Mahri Hanna came in fourth among collegiate athletes with a time of 1:13.21. Laila Cottom ended the race with a time of 1:17.65. Also, Maya Gomes had a time of 1:23.03.
The only Owl to compete in the 800m race was Jayla Green and she finished with a time of 2:29.96.
Reese Morgan was the only Temple athlete to run in the mile and she ended with a time of 5:31.16.
Temple had two teams in the 4x400m relay. Hanna, Jameson, Grace Hickman, and Smith finished in sixth out of 18 teams with a time of 3:48.65. The other team composed of Brown, Cottom, Green, and Powell recorded a time of 4:04.06 which put them in 15th.
