Gymnastics Remains Home for Friday Night Quad Meet

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple Owls (3-3) remain home in Philadelphia for the second home meet in a row on Friday, Jan. 23 at 6:00 pm. The Owls will host George Washington, Penn, and Texas Woman's University at McGonigle Hall in the first home quad meet of the season. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+ and live results can be found at owlsports.com.

LAST TIME OUT
Temple University Gymnastics finished with a 194.150 and topped EAGL rival LIU in the 2026 home opener. The Owls notched a season-high score in today's win. Junior Amelia Budd propelled Temple with her two performances, both enough to earn her EAGL Specialist of the Week.

ROTATION ONE (VAULT: 48.750)
Freshman Jade Harden posted a career-high 9.775 on vault. Four Owls scored 9.700 or higher, with Harden, Brooklyn Thomas, Nikki Rengifo, and Amelia Budd all surpassing the mark.
Rengifo and Budd led the rotation with scores of 9.825, tying for Temple's highest individual marks of the meet.

ROTATION TWO (BARS: 48.625)
Reese DeHaan opened the rotation with a solid 9.700 on bars. Nazstazia-Simone Henry-Jubitana recorded a 9.800, the top score for Temple on the apparatus. Four Owls reached 9.700 or higher, with Harden, Thomas, Rengifo, and Budd all clearing the mark.

ROTATION THREE (BEAM: 48.025)
Nikki Rengifo led the Owls on beam with a team-high score of 9.750. Megan White joined Rengifo in the 9.700 range, also posting a 9.700. Hailey Best rounded out Temple's top three on beam with a score of 9.675.

ROTATION FOUR (FLOOR: 48.750)
Amelia Budd paced the Owls on floor, setting a season-high score of 9.800. Mariella Brueck matched Budd's 9.800, tying her career-high performance. Temple closed the meet with a floor score of 48.750, matching its season best set earlier at the quad meet in Florida.

SCOUTING THE OPPOSITION
The George Washington Revolutionaries enter Friday with two meets under their belt this season. Most recently the Revs opened up play in Washington, D.C. with a third-place finish against Penn, West Chester, and Cornell, posting an overall score of a 191.375. Senior Deana Sheremeta has been a shining light for the Revs this season, performing strong all season long. She took home the EAGL Gymnast of the Week honor last week and put up a 9.900 on beam and a 9.775 on floor in GW's last time out to lead the way.
Penn most recently came in first place in the GW quad meet this past weekend and posted a score of 194.075 in the process. Last weekend was the Quakers second time competing this season and its second first-place finish of the year after notching the top spot in week one against Cornell and Bridgeport. Someone to keep an eye on in the Penn lineup is Maggie Murhpy. The sophomore from Westford, Mass. put up a 9.800 on beam and a 9.750 on floor in the meet last weekend in Washington, D.C.
Texas Woman's University enters Friday's meet with two competitions under its belt, including a win over #26 Arizona this past weekend. TWU hosted #26 Arizona and #12 Denver in Texas and posted a second-place finish and a score of 195.275. The Pioneers come into the week at #27 in the country. Kyleigh Ghanbari and Sophie Hernandez each put up a 9.875 on floor to help TWU reach that 195.275 overall.
UP NEXT
The Owls will head back to SEC country next Friday, Jan. 30 when Temple travels to Athens, Ga. for the Georgia Quad Meet. The University of Georgia will play host to Temple, Fisk, and Central Michigan at 7:00 pm from Stegeman Coliseum. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network Plus.
