Women's Track & Field Shows Grit at Penn Invitational

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University's women's indoor track & field team competed at the Penn Invitational held at the Ott Center this afternoon. Emelie Beckman placed first in the pole vault with a height of 4.02m (13'-2.25"). She now ranks 66th among all NCAA DI athletes in this event. Reagan Schwartz also finished first among all collegiate athletes in the triple jump with a distance of 12.00m (39'-4.50")Â

The Owls will travel to Penn State for the Sykes and Sabock Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 7.
Results
- Kamryn Ohm and Reece Sullivan also competed in the pole vault, and each achieved a height of 3.47m (11'-4.50"). They placed 10th and 14th, respectively.Â
- The other three Owls that competed in the triple jump also placed inside the top five among collegiate athletes. Shalisha Robertson set a new personal record with a distance of 11.93m (39'-1.75"). Smilla Ranebro also competed and finished with a distance of 11.65m (38'-2.75"). Finally, Deja Scott jumped for a total distance of 11.47m (37'-7.75").Â
- Ranebro reached a height of 1.53m (5'-0.25") in the high jump.Â
- Aly Doyle finished in fourth in the 60mH finals with a time of 8.80. Sophomore Zayniah Ali set a new personal record in the prelims after coming across the line in 8.84.Â
- Mariah Jameson placed fourth in the 200m with a time of 24.91. Lila Ziegler also competed in this event and finished with a time of 26.09.
- Chloe Smith set a new personal record in the 400m after clocking a time of 57.12, putting her in fourth place. Grace Hickman finished in seventh with a time of 57.92. Briyel Brown came across the line with a time of 59.63. Kei-Mahri Hanna also competed in this event and ended with a time of 1:00.42. Right behind her was Dicia Watkins, who set a new personal record with a time of 1:01.39.
- Jayla Green set a new personal record in the 800m with a time of 2:25.89. Brooke Shellenberger placed right behind her with a time of 2:41.20.Â
- In the mile, Reese Morgan finished in 5:22.22, which is a new personal record for the freshman. Shellenberger ended the mile with a time of 6:13.24.
The Owls will travel to Penn State for the Sykes and Sabock Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 7.
