Ford Selected to NABC All-Mid-Atlantic District Second Team

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced Tuesday morning that Derrian Ford has been named to the NABC All-Mid-Atlantic District Second Team.
Ford ranks fifth in the American Conference in total points (561) and fourth in scoring at 18.1 points per game, which ranks 89th nationally. He has also been one of the league's most reliable players at the free throw line, ranking fourth in free throws made (167) and fifth in attempts (196), both among the top 75 nationally. He is fourth in the conference in free throw percentage (.852).
The Magnolia, Ark., native shot 42.7 percent from the field, ranking seventh in the conference. He also ranks seventh in field goals made (172) and ninth in field goal attempts (403). In terms of durability, Ford is fourth in minutes per game (35:39), ranking 42nd nationally.
Ford scored in double figures in 30 of 31 appearances this season, including 14 games with 20 or more points. In addition to leading the Owls in scoring, Ford ranked second on the team in rebounding at 4.3 rebounds per game.
He was previously named to the American Conference Third Team and All-Newcomer Team.
The Arkansas State transfer earned three weekly league honors during his final collegiate season, including American Conference Player of the Week on Dec. 22.
The NABC Mid-Atlantic District includes all NCAA Division I programs (39) in Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Washington, D.C.
