PHILADELPHIA - Temple University men's basketball head coach Adam Fisher announced Monday the signing of Baboucarr Njie to the Owls' 2026-27 roster.

Njie, a 6-6 junior guard/forward from Dayton, Ohio, spent his first two collegiate seasons at UTSA. He averaged 9.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 45.8 percent from the field in 29 games, including 11 starts, during the 2025-26 season for the Roadrunners.

He ranked fourth in the American Conference in blocks per game and second among guards, behind only Temple's Gavin Griffiths.

"We're excited to welcome Baboucarr to our Temple family," said Fisher. "He comes from a tremendous family and has the character, work ethic and team-first mindset we value in our program. Baboucarr brings length, athleticism and versatility, and he has shown the ability to score efficiently and impact the game on both ends of the floor in the American. We look forward to seeing him compete in Cherry and White."

Njie recorded 11 double-figure scoring contests, including five 20-point performances. He tallied a career-high 25 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double against Temple in San Antonio last season. He also posted a 23-point, 12-rebound double-double against Denver.

He totaled multiple blocks in 12 contests, including a UTSA single-game record seven blocks at North Texas.

As a true freshman, Njie averaged 2.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in 24 contests.

Fisher helped recruit Njie's brother, Kebba, to Penn State as associate head coach of the Nittany Lions prior to the 2022-23 season.

"I chose Temple University because the coaching staff made a strong impression on me and showed genuine belief in my potential," said Njie. "The facilities are top-tier and give me everything I need to develop as a player. Most importantly, they made me feel welcomed and at home from the moment I stepped on campus."

Prior to UTSA, Njie attended Centerville High School in Ohio, where he was part of four consecutive state tournament semifinal appearances under head coach Brook Cupps. He helped lead the Elks to a 20-9 record and a trip to the state title game as a senior after Centerville went 26-4 during his junior campaign.

Njie earned 2024 Division I All-Ohio Special Mention honors, was named to the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association All-Southwest Ohio Second Team and garnered First Team All-Greater Western Ohio Conference recognition after averaging 12.7 points, 7.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while shooting 57.3 percent from the field as a senior.

In addition to Kebba, Njie's brother, Mo, played collegiately at SMU and UTSA. His father, Baboucarr Sr., played at Purdue University Fort Wayne and Cincinnati State.

Njie joins fellow transfers Dallis Dillard (Harlem, N.Y./IUP) and Dez White (Jefferson City, Missouri/Oregon State), returners Gavin Griffiths, Cam Wallace and Olin Chamberlain Jr. and incoming freshman Derrick Morton-Rivera on the 2026-27 roster.
