Temple Tops Old Dominion at Home

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's lacrosse (9–4, 1–3 American) defeated Old Dominion (5–9, 0–4 American), 17–7, Saturday morning at Howarth Field. Lexi Culp and Amelia Wright led the Owls with four goals each, as nine different players found the back of the net.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Jenna Facciolli opened the scoring for Temple with a goal assisted by Sabrina Martin. Old Dominion responded with a free-position goal and a man-up goal to take an early 2–1 lead. Lexi Culp and Brooke Mazzei each scored to give the Owls a 3–2 advantage, but Julia Butler netted the final goal of the quarter to tie the game at 3–3.
Culp regained the lead for Temple early in the second quarter with a free-position goal. Mazzei and Martin followed with goals to extend the Owls' lead to 6–3. Kali Saito added a late goal to give Temple a 7–3 advantage at halftime.
Culp completed her hat trick to open the third quarter with another free-position goal. Amelia Wright followed with back-to-back goals, pushing the Owls' lead to 10–4. Butler scored twice for Old Dominion late in the quarter, but Temple still held an 11–5 lead heading into the final period.
Old Dominion's Kylie O'Donnell opened the fourth-quarter scoring, but Temple responded with a three-goal run from Sarah Gowman, Paige Feick, and Wright to extend the lead to 15–6. Lily Caravela added a late goal to seal the 17–7 victory.

The Owls will remain at Howarth Field to host Vanderbilt on Saturday for Senior Day. Temple will honor 12 student-athletes, with first draw set for noon on ESPN+.
