PHILADELPHIA – Following a 1-1 opening weekend, the Temple University field hockey team returns to action with a pair of road contests against Lafayette and Wagner.

Temple heads to Easton, Pa., to battle Lafayette on Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The Owls close the weekend in Staten Island against Wagner on Sunday at 1 p.m. on NEC Front Row.

Last Time Out

Temple opened the 2026 season with a 2-1 win over James Madison in the opening game of The Conference Cup in College Park, Maryland. Sophomore Brooke Weaver and senior Riley Gallagher each scored in the first half. JMU converted a penalty stroke in the third quarter, but the Owls held off the Dukes' comeback attempt.

Against No. 13 Maryland, the Terrapins scored twice in the second quarter to take a 2-0 halftime lead. Sophomore Lucia Magro converted a penalty stroke late in the third quarter for her first goal of the season, cutting the deficit in half. Maryland's Francisca Eschoyez added an insurance goal early in the fourth quarter to lift the Terrapins to a 3-1 victory.

Weaver, Gallagher and Magro share the team lead with one goal apiece through the opening weekend. Freshman Mina Uezbe recorded the Owls' lone assist, setting up Gallagher's goal against James Madison.

Goalkeeper Alex Lepore made nine saves and posted a .692 save percentage over the two contests.

Top Performer: GK Alex Lepore combined to make nine saves against JMU and Maryland.

The Leopards enter the weekend with an identical 1-1 record after earning a 2-1 neutral-site victory and falling to a nationally ranked Big Ten opponent.

Lafayette defeated Kent State, 2-1, in its season opener, building a 2-0 lead before conceding a late goal to the Golden Flashes. Lena Thedrian and Stella Malinowski scored for the Leopards.

Lafayette closed the weekend against reigning national champion No. 1 Northwestern, falling 1-0. The contest remained scoreless for the first 56 minutes before Jessica Freedman scored the game-winning goal with just over three minutes remaining.

Goalkeeper Addison Kahn made 10 saves against Northwestern. She enters the weekend ranked among the top 15 nationally in save percentage (12th, .882) and saves per game (13th, 7.50).
